Technical notes: Cota 830 has been harvested by hand only when the optimal glycolytic and phenolic maturity overlap. After a rigorous selection of grapes, it has fermented with endogenous yeast which gives it their particular tipicality. Malolactic fermentation is done in Allier and Tronçais forest oak barrels, where it completes aging on lees after several "batonage". After 24 months in barrel and a delicate bottle aging, born this wine of unique bouquet.

Tasting Notes: Good cherry color layer wine, with viscous tear. Intense nose of ripe red fruit. After gentle agitation, include notes of Mediterranean forest herbs on a background of something roasted cloves. Round and fresh entry on mouth. Creamy and long-path. Sweet tannins assembled with lactic acid. Mineral and tasty aftertaste.

Vineyard: Our Bobal and Tempranillo grapes come from vineyards in the hamlet of La Vallesa in Siete Aguas, located at 830 meters above sea level. These are old vines (50 years) of low yield. A clay soil with some limestone outcrops highlights. Vast horizons of high porosity appear, low in organic matter.

Weather: 2011 was a very good year for the mid-cycle varieties (Cabernet), with a fresh spring start then with warm temperatures, a dry and moderate summer, with highs of 35º C in late August. Rains respected our vintage and began the last week of October. In La Vallesa there was abundant rainfall in spring. 210 mm were recorded up to the harvest date. In Vall dels Alforins there was no water stress achieving a balanced grape ripening and good degrees in red wines (precipitation reached to 240 mm up to the harvest date).
